From Melbourne Airport to City Center and onto the Beautiful Phillip Island
When traveling to Melbourne, you shouldn’t just stay in the city. There are amazing sites just outside Melbourne and one of them is Phillip Island. Every citizen and every tourist that has visited know about Phillip Island, and you should, too. As you arrive at the Melbourne Airport to city center, here are three reasons why you should continue traveling until you get to Phillip Island.
One, Phillip Island is home of the Phillip Island Nature Parks, which are just some of the most beautiful and intriguing parks in the country. If you haven’t seen koala bears up close, now is your chance.
One of the parks is the Koala Conservation Centre, which is both an attraction and learning facility at the same time. Experts come here to learn more about these cuddly animals and how they can best preserve them. Australia is home to a number of animals that you can’t find elsewhere in the world. I’m sure you’ve heard about kangaroos?
Another important park is the Nobbies Centre. Here you will see Australian fur seals and other amazing creatures.
Second, visit Phillip Island for its history and culture. You will see, smell, feel, and experience authentic Australian farm life at Churchill Island Heritage Farm. Experience milking a cow, riding on horse-drawn wagons, sheep shearing, and working with blacksmiths. It’s an experience that both citizens and tourists must share to truly appreciate Melbourne.
There are also walking trails here; perfect if you are a lover of nature. Also in the area is a spot for bird watching.
And third, come to Phillip Island to build lasting memories with your family. It is a family place, and the best area to visit in the island is Penguin Parade. Imagine taking an afternoon walk with you family to the beach and on your way you pass by a colony of cute little Australian penguins.
Penguin Parade is not far from Nobbies Centre.
To get from Melbourne Airport to city center to Phillip Island, take the Monash Freeway to the Cranbourne exit and into the South Gippsland Highway until you reach Bass Highway. Turn right at the Anderson roundabout onto the Phillip Island Road and over the bridge that leads to the island.
